Sometimes I put some thoughts or updates here.

    I'm starting Judo this year.
Can't wait to be pinned down by some sweaty muscular dude.

The other day I tried the TranTranZai Chinese restaurant chain in Paris (specifically the one in Montparnasse). I really liked it. The food was delicious, pretty affordable, and arrived very quickly. I'll keep that place in mind if I ever need to eat out when I'm short on time.

Little climbing session today at the Climb Up gym near Porte d'Italie in Paris. This is a great gym with plenty of space and both bouldering and ~8 m walls for rope climbing. Afterward, we tried Bêp Viêt, a vegetarian Vietnamese restaurant nearby, once again following the recommendation of Snow Priestess the greatest.

This week I'm in La Vallée de Chevreuse, a beautiful forest near Paris. I went on a short hike in the forest two days ago, when it wasn't too hot. I really missed being in the forest, the colors and smells were so refreshing.

There was also an almost total solar eclipse yesterday. I don't even remember the last time I saw one. It was a pretty weird and cool experience. I tried taking some pictures, but I think it requires a tripod and a long exposure.

Another sunny vacation day. I finally took the time to visit the Rodin Museum in Meudon. It is a free, small museum displaying some of Rodin's works in the house where he spent the last 20 years of his life. After that, it was another chill day of Parisian tourism. I had lunch at Misu, a pretty good Korean restaurant, and an afternoon coffee at T'Cup.

I'm on vacation for the next two weeks and the girlfriend is back to France. Today was a sunny day, so we made the most of it by spending the day randomly wandering around Paris. It's funny how being on vacation with nothing to do but enjoy your day can make the city you live in feel so different.

Following Snow Priestess's recommendation, we had an afternoon snack at Melané café. I had a mango latte with a slice of coconut cheesecake. It was delicious. I really recommend this café if you are looking for a sweet snack nearby. Following that, we walked freely in the Jardin du Luxembourg. Overall, a very pleasant vacation day.

I just received this year's edition of SpeeDons T-shirts. As usual, they come with superb illustrations from Dzoan Ho. I think that in the last three years or so, I've only bought T-shirts during this event, and I regret nothing. This time I got 2 normal ones, 2 limited editions, and I also managed to get the sweatshirt. Super happy about that!

This Sunday, we finished Escape Academy with the girlfriend. It took us around 6 hours across 4 sessions.

It is an excellent two-player cooperative game and you can feel that it was designed to be played remotely with someone else. A lot of gameplay mechanics require collaboration and solutions benefit from different ways of thinking, so it is very likely that both players will have their moments to shine. The puzzles are well balanced. Not too complicated, so it remains a casual and fun game, but not too easy, so it gives you a real sense of accomplishment and multiple aha moments.

It is a game I would highly recommend playing.

I watched The Odyssey in the cinema today, mainly out of FOMO. First of all, WTF with all those ads before the movie, I'm paying to watch the film, not ads.

Anyway, regarding the movie. It is genuinely a good movie, I enjoyed watching it. I'm just a bit sad about the lost potential, I would have loved a more contemplative/traveling movie with more cinematic shots of the boat, the ocean, and the islands. Also, the narrative decision of telling the story as a succession of flashbacks breaks the immersion for me.

But overall, it's one of the best movies of recent years, and I would definitely recommend watching it.
